Back in black 🐈⬛
After being gone for 11 long, strange years, my old cat Mr. Squeaks just rose from the dead. NBD. 🙀
So I guess it’s National Pet Day, which reminds me I’ve got a new four-legged friend I’ve been meaning to tell you about.
Actually, I think he might be a long lost friend who simply returned from the dead.
Back in 2011, I took in this stray kitten — a little black panther I called Mr. Squeaks. He didn’t really meow; he just kinda squeaked.
Squeaks died tragically in the summer of 2013. He was just 2 years old. Died on my father’s birthday, in fact. Broke my heart in a million pieces.
Anyone who ever met Squeaks will never forget him and his ridiculous ways.
He’s buried in the backyard now. I loved that little shit so much that I went outside every day for a year — even in the dead of winter — and saluted him at his grave.
I can see his little gravesite right outside my kitchen window. Mr. Big Stuff’s ashes are scattered there, too.
Shortly after my old friend John died last winter, I looked out my back door one night to see this little black cat just sauntering around my patio. I opened the door to try to shoo him away, but he just waltzed right in, flopped his black ass down, and proceeded to make himself at home.
I can’t explain it — this little shit acts as if he’s been here before.
He just seems to know his way around the house, know exactly what to do and where to go … and the other cats don’t even bat an eyelash!
They’re like, “Oh, hey, Squeaks. Long time no see.”
This crazy kitten just picked right up where Original Squeaks left off. And now when I look out my back door, I can often see Squeaks 2.0 just hangin’ out … right on top of Original Squeaks’s grave!
Who does that?!
Also, he doesn’t really meow. He just kinda … squeaks.
WTF is even happening?
😹😹😹

I’m glad your cat came back. ❤️
Hard to believe, but this is all true. I've met this/these cats and it's uncanny how much alike they are. I think Dave's fondness for Squeaks helped to reincarnate him somehow. Glad you shared this !
